Mini  5 - 8 years

Junior   8 - 11 years

Intermediate   10 - 14 years

 (Ballet, National/Character/Ethnic, Tap, Jazz/Hip Hop, Music and Singing, Drama, Mime, Theatrical Crafts)

 

 

PROGRAMS

 

MINI – (AGES 5-8 YRS)

 

­  Five Day program

­  Morning or afternoon programs available or full day

­  Mornings: 9:00 a.m. – noon

­  Afternoons: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

­  Pre-Primary to Primary (R.A.D.)

­  A combination of ballet, tap, jazz, folk dance, music, song, drama, mime, crafts

­  Emphasis on enjoyment, focus, rhythm, co-ordination and balance

Uniform:  Comfortable bodysuit, pink tights, ballet slippers and tap shoes or hard soled dress shoes.  Pre-Primary/Primary skirt preferable.  Long hair must be pinned neatly in a bun.

JUNIOR – (AGES 8-11 YRS)

­  Five Day program- Full day 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

­  Grade one to grade two (R.A.D.)

­  Ballet, Ethnic/Character, Jazz, Tap, Music & Singing, Drama & Crafts

Uniform:  Sleeveless bodysuit (preferably R.A.D. light blue) pink tights, pink ballet slippers, character skirt and character shoes.  Long hair must be pinned neatly in a bun.

INTERMEDIATE – (AGES 10-14 YRS)

­  Five Day program- Full day 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

­  Grade three to grade four (R.A.D.)

­  Ballet, Ethnic/Character, Jazz

­  Hip Hop, Tap, Music & Singing, Drama & Crafts

Uniform:  Sleeveless bodysuit (preferably R.A.D. navy blue) pink tights, pink ballet slippers, black character skirt and character shoes.  Long hair must be pinned neatly in a  bun.

 FRIDAY  JULY 23rd.. 6:00 P.M.

lunch & breaks

Juice, fruit & cookies will be supplied for all programs during the morning and afternoon breaks.

Lunch is scheduled from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.

Please bring a bag lunch.  We may go outside or visit a local park.  Please supply sun screen and a hat. 

TAP SHOES?

Do not worry if you do not have a pair.  We will have a supply of second-hand tap shoes for your use during the program (when available).  Character shoes are acceptable.

$120.00+GST/halfday per week

$220.00+GST/full day per week

(Craft fee included)

A non refundable deposit of

$50.00+GST/half day

$90.00+GST/full day is required to secure position in the mini program

Junior/Intermediate Program

Monday July 19 - 23

$220.00+GST/full day per week

(Craft fee included)

A non-refundable deposit of $90.00+GST is required to secure position in the Junior and Intermediate Programs.

 

Save an additional $10.00 per week when sending in full payment by July lst 2010.

 

DIRECTOR

Judith   Coleman

Practical Teaching Supervisor for the Royal Academy of Dance

R.A.D. Teaching Diploma

Life member B.A.T.D.

Specialist in Ballet, Character and National Dance.  She established the Oxford School of Dance in 1971.  Mrs. Coleman was trained in England at the Torbay School of Dance and Music.

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Kim   Lightheart

R.A.D. Teaching Certificate. Former Principal Dancer of the National Ballet of Canada.  Kim’s repertoire included “Romeo and Juliet”, “Giselle”, “The Nutcracker” and “The Sleeping Beauty”.  Kim is looking to give back to the community her knowledge to young aspiring dancers.

MUSICAL DIRECTOR

Dan   Durksen      M. Mus

Mr. Durksen is a well known freelance musician, dance accompanist and choir master.  Specialties include Piano and Song.  Mr. Durksen teaches privately and at the Western Conservatory of Music where he is an examiner.

STAFF

HAYLEY BLYTH

Hayley has a strong passion for performing and is currently pursuing a career in musical theatre at Sheridan College.  A former student of  Judith Coleman Oxford School of  Dance where she attained her RAD Advanced One Certificate

 Various artists to be introduced throughout the week.
